Nvidia's stronger-than-expected quarterly results sent U.S. stock futures higher, giving investors a reason to buy back into technology after a cautious pre-earnings holding pattern.

The company delivered results that reinforced the view that AI infrastructure demand remains robust, with data center-oriented revenue continuing to grow and guidance suggesting the pipeline is fuller than many analysts expected. Nasdaq futures led the move higher, while S&P 500 futures gained ground in a market that has been torn between excitement over AI spending and fear that persistent inflation could force the Federal Reserve to keep monetary policy tight.

The tension between those two forces has defined trading for much of the week. Earlier sessions were weighed down by hotter-than-expected inflation readings and elevated Treasury yields, which punished high-multiple technology names. Nvidia's report provided a temporary release valve, allowing investors to refocus on revenue growth rather than discount-rate worries.

Other technology companies also contributed to the improved tone. Salesforce and Okta both reported results that beat expectations, adding breadth to the rally and suggesting the upbeat sentiment was not confined to semiconductors alone. The combined effect was a clearer risk-on tone heading into the next batch of economic data.

Still, the market's reprieve may be conditional. The Federal Reserve has not signaled a return to easy policy, and bond yields can resume their climb quickly if inflation proves stubborn. For now, traders are treating Nvidia's report as evidence that the economy's most dynamic sector can thrive even under restrictive financial conditions.
