The MOU framework includes a 60-day extension of ceasefires, plans to reopen the Strait of Hormuz to shipping, and groundwork for future discussions on Iran’s nuclear program and sanctions.

Marine tracking data shows increased vessel traffic through the Strait of Hormuz following the deal announcements. Crude oil prices have declined sharply as markets anticipate potential increases in Iranian oil supply.
